The "capitalist" bag - My first Stash Busting Project! (Part one)

Ich habe mein erstes Nähprojekt gestartet. Also zumindest mein erstes "richtiges". Als ich kleiner und bedeutend ungeduldiger war, saß ich schon mal an der Nähmaschine und habe schnell aufgegeben! Mir lief alles zu langsam und zu "doof". Jetzt wo ich fleißig Häkle und Sticke, habe ich genug "Selbstvertrauen" gewonnen es nocheinmal zu versuchen!
Meine liebe Oma hat Stoffe gesammelt und leider aus dem Großteil (mit Großteil ist ein ganzer Keller voller Stoffkisten gemeint) nie etwas gemacht. Letztes Jahr waren wir in dem Haus um den Keller auszuräumen. Am liebsten hätte ich wohl alle Kisten mit nach Hause genommen, aber das war weder technisch möglich (ein Lastwagen wäre nötig gewesen - wirklich!), noch wäre hier genug Platz gewesen. Wir schenkten also dutzende Kisten voll Stoff einer Schneiderin.
Man muss zwar zugeben, dass meine Oma nicht ganz meinen Geschmack hatte... doch bevor wir alles weg gaben hahaha! haben ich und meine Mama den Inhalt der Kisten gescannt, die schönsten Stoffe aussortiert und behalten. Nun lagern also seit etwa einem Jahr, 2 große Kartons voller herrlicher Stoffe in unserem Keller!
Doch damit ist jetzt Schluss! Sie sollen dort nicht versauern. Mit Mutters Hilfe werde ich mich durch die Kiste nähen! Und Miss Katies Stash Busting Project ist die perfekte Motivation :)
Mein erstes Projekt ist eine simple Tasche! Ich habe mir recht schlichte Stoffe ausgesucht, sticke aber etwas darauf um sie auf zu "pimpen" ;)

I've started my first sewing project. Well my first "real" one. When I was a child and much more impatient, the sewing machine made me nervous and I gave up quickly! Now that I do crochet and embroidery, I have gained enough "confidence" to give it a try again!
My dear grandmother collected fabrics, and she never used most of them (well "most of them" actually means a whole cellar full of fabrics). Last year we had to clean out the basement. We weren't able to take all the boxes home, even thoug I wished to!, but it was neither technically possible (a truck would have been necessary - I'm serious!), yet we have enough space here at home. So we gave dozens of boxes full of material to a seamstress (for free).
I also have to admit that my grandmother had not quite my taste ... but ! hahaha! my mum and I scanned all the boxes before we gave them away. And we retained the nicest fabrics, hehehe! So we stored 2 large boxes full of beautiful fabrics for about a year now.
But now is the time to use them!!! with mother's sewing help ... And Miss Katies Stash Busting Project is the perfect motivation :)
My first project is a simple bag! I've chosen quite simple fabrics, but I embroider them in order to "pimp" them ;)
